Biography - Karen M Williams-Jones


Originally from Pasadena, California, Karen Williams-Jones first fell in love with the Spanish language in a Spanish-speaking church she attended as a child in New York. She went on to study in Mexico and Spain, receiving her undergraduate degree in Spanish from SpeIman College. She then completed a Masters of Art degree in Latin American Studies and Literature at Purdue University in Indiana. She also earned a second Masters of Arts degree in African American Studies from Yale University. While pursing a joint Ph.D. in her twin interests, Spanish and African American Studies, she was awarded and additional Masters of Philosophy degree. Her dissertation focuses on Afro-Hispanic Literature. Mrs. Jones is an experienced instructor. She has taught Spanish full-time for Morehouse College for the last 10 years. She has also taught online Spanish courses for community colleges throughout the Southeast.
