Biography - Steven Oluic

Dr. Steven Oluic is a recently retired Army officer who has taught geography courses at the U.S. Military Academy, Kent State University, and currently online for the American Military University. He is the Dean of Social Sciences and Public Service Technologies at Lakeland Community College. His expertise is in political geography and especially the (1) regional geography of the Balkans, (2) boundary studies, and (3) Balkan Muslim Diaspora communities in the United States. Dr. Oluic earned his doctorate in Geography from Kent State University in 2005. His publications include one book, several book chapters, and numerous journal articles. He has presented at many professional conferences and at such venues as the Defense Intelligence Agency, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Department of State. During his 27 year military career he has served overseas tours in Iraq, Korea, Germany, and Bosnia. Dr. Steven Oluic is a native of Cleveland, Ohio and has a wife and three children.
