BRIGADIER GENERAL MICHAEL D. NAVRKAL


Assistant Adjutant General - Army, Nebraska National Guard

Brigadier General Michael D. Navrkal is Assistant Adjutant General - Army, Nebraska National Guard, Lincoln, Nebraska. In this assignment, General Navrkal is responsible for leading the 3,800 Soldiers of the Nebraska Army National Guard to include strategic planning, manning, training and readiness to support its State and Federal mission. He advises the Adjutant General on issues pertaining to and utilization of Nebraska Army National Guard forces and guides the development and implementation of all programs and policies affecting the organization.

General Navrkal received his commission from the Officer Candidate Course at Fort Benning, Georgia on 5 June 1981. He has commanded at the Company, Battalion and Brigade levels. General Navrkal commanded Company A, 2nd Battalion, 134th Infantry Regiment, 67th Infantry Brigade and the168th Quartermaster Petroleum Supply Battalion. General Navrkal deployed to Iraq as Commander, 867th Corps Support Battalion from 2006-2007 where he led an organization of 1,700 Soldiers providing logistical support. Most recently he served as Commander, 92nd Troop Command.
