Biography - Jeyakesavan Veerasamy

Dr.Jey Veerasamy completed MS and Ph.D. in Computer Science in the University of Texas at Dallas in 1999. He has worked in telecommunication software industry for the past 15 years in the areas of software design, architecture, performance trending, optimization and troubleshooting. Additionally, he has 10 years of experience teaching online courses in the areas of telecommunications, networking, programming and algorithms.

He has published 12 papers in technical journals or professional conferences and he has reviewed technical papers for telecommunication conferences. He holds 4 patents related to wireless telecommunications as well.

His father was a school teacher, so he had an interest for teaching right from school. His wife Priya also teaches online courses in Computer Science. Jey and Priya live in Richardson, a northern suburb of Dallas, Texas, with 2 young daughters. Jey enjoys gardening in his spare time and believes in going green. His family grows several fresh vegetables all summer, and also composts all food waste in the backyard year-around thanks to mild Texas winters.
