Biography - Irene Nero


Irene Nero is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana. She received an AA in Interior Design, and a BA and a MA in Art History. Upon completion of her dissertation on contemporary architecture, she received her PhD in Art History, Theory, and Criticism from Florida State University.
Dr. Nero believes that art is an intrinsic expression of humankind and that the study of art history reveals all facets of human experience. Her first book was published in fall 2009, entitled “Transformations in Architecture”, Frank Gehry's Techno-Morphism at the Guggenheim Bilbao. She enjoys traveling to see art on site and is passionate about teaching because she believes that education is the foundation for a better life.
