Biography - Christine R Chin Choy

I received my PhD in Environmental Engineering in 2007 from Stevens Institute of Technology, Hoboken, NJ. My graduate work entailed modeling nanoparticle transport in porous media. Most recently, I worked as an environmental consultant in New York City. I worked with property owners, construction companies and various contractors to identify contamination on properties and determine technically, logistically and economically sound methods of removing contamination sources. I also became familiar with common environmental issues that face the environmental remediation business.

My research interests include the removal of heavy metals from soil and groundwater and nanoparticle aggregation and transport in subsurface media. I have also recently become interested in alternate energy sources, in particular, the construction and operation of geothermal wells for domestic heating and cooling.
