Biography - Vincent P Mikkelsen


Vincent Mikkelsen received an undergraduate history degree from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a masters degree in history from Salisbury University on the eastern shore of Maryland. He earned his doctorate in History from Florida State University. His dissertation, Coming from Battle to Face a War: The Lynching of African Americans Soldiers in the World War I Era, examined the White supremacists’ fear of the African-American soldier, the violence unleashed on African-American soldiers, and finally, the emergence of a new mentality. At this point, he is revising the manuscript for publication.

Vincent is currently a visiting lecturer at Florida State University.
