Biography - Wendy T Hilbert


Wendy Hilbert grew up in Northern, Virginia and graduated from George Mason University with a B.S. in Sports, Health, and Recreation Management. She began working for APUS in 2002 in the Student Services Center and has been a key participant in the growth of the University over the years.

Wendy earned an MA in Management with a Human Resources concentration, with honors from AMU in 2007.
Prior to working for APUS, Wendy was essential in combining the Fairfax County Recreations Department and Fairfax County Park Authority.

Wendy participates in Big Brothers and Sisters of America and serves as an advisor for Alpha Xi Delta Fraternity, of which she is a founding member and third president of the George Mason University organization. She also enjoys travel, yoga, reading, and spending time with her husband and newborn son, Gavin.

Wendy’s teaching philosophy is to motivate her students to thrive in the online environment. Having been an online student herself, she realizes motivation is a key factor in academic success. She strives to foster a successful learning environment for each student.
