Jim's academic background ranges from computer science to human ecology and natural resource management. He received his Master's in Geography from Rutgers University and is completing his Ph.D in Geography there this fall. His primary interests include geographic information systems, landscape change, conservation and human-environmental interactions. He has nearly a decade of experience teaching introductory geography and geographic information systems.
In addition to his academic work, he has significant experience working as a geographic information systems specialist. He has been the lead on several projects of regional and statewide conservation importance for a variety of state agencies and non-profit organizations.
