Biography - Robert M McKay


Professor McKay as a diverse experience in sports and administration. He played minor hockey, basketball and rugby in Canada. After graduating from High School he went to UBC to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering focusing on kinematics and motion. He then coached in the Vancouver Minor Hockey system for several years before taking a position as an assistant varsity basketball coach at Centennial Secondary School in Coquitlam BC.

He then obtained his Masters in Management and Administration from the University of Oregon and transferred to another school as a High School Administrator. In this position he coached Rep Hockey and acted as the Ice Manager of the Hockey Association.

He has coached hockey at all levels from Mites to Midgets, Varsity Basketball and High School Golf. His passion for education, coaching and sports has led him to APU.
