Biography - Maureen Augustin


Maureen Augustin earned a Master's Degree in Education from Dominican University. She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education and Philosophy from Trenton State College.

Ms. Augustin has been an elementary school teacher for 18 years and currently holds the position of Accelerated Intervention Teacher in Princeton, New Jersey. In this position, she provides supplemental instruction using a Response to Intervention framework that focuses on the needs of at-risk students in order to accelerate students in reading, writing and math. Prior to this position, she was a Kindergarten teacher.

Ms. Augustin currently serves on the District Disproportionality Core Team in conjunction with the New York University Technical Assistance Center on Disproportionality in an effort to identify and address the root causes of disproportionality of minority students in Special Education. She is also a trained member of the Tri-State Consortium. The Consortium members conduct site visits to member districts committed to using student performance data to develop a rigorous framework for systematic planning, assessment, accreditation, and continuous improvement to increase student performance.
