Mr. Hewitt has nearly 13 years of experience in Geographic Information systems, with his career having covered practical applications of geography for environmental compliance (NEPA) at White Sands Missile Range in southern New Mexico, to electric network and load modeling at the City of Mesa's Electric Utility Division in Arizona. Since November of 2006, he has been the resident Geographer/GIS Lead for the U.S. Department of the Interior's Bureau of Land Management in Las Cruces, NM. His expertise includes enterprise relational database development and predictive spatial modeling.
He has guest-lectured at New Mexico State University and Northern Arizona University, and has also presented academic and professional research in human locational behavior and vegetative modeling. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology in 1998, and a Master of Applied Geography degree in 2002 from New Mexico State University.
