Biography - Melvin L Fogle


Adjunct Professor Melvin (Shawn) Fogle received his Bachelor of Science in Workforce Education, Training and Development from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois. He also holds dual master’s degrees, with honors and distinction, in Organizational Management and Business Administration from Southwest University.

He is a career Air Force transporter and logistician. He currently leads a team of 104 instructors at the USAF Expeditionary Center's Mobility Operations School where they deliver first-class training and education to over 30,000 students annually through 68 seat-based and 19 online training courses in various logistics specialties. He previously led a team of over 200 personnel at the Air Force's premier logistics hub. He also served as the Functional Director for a 3.2 billion dollar commercial airlift contract while assigned to Ramstein Air Base, Germany. While serving in Germany, he was selected as the 721st Air Mobility Operations Group Non-commissioned Officer of the Year for 2006 and 2007, the 21st Expeditionary Task Force Noncommissioned Officer of the Year in 2008, and went on to earn the nomination as one of the US Junior Chamber of Commerce's Ten Outstanding Young Americans in 2008. He was recently named the 2009 305th Air Moibility Wing's Senior Noncommissioned Officer of the Year and the United Services Organization (USO) Air Force Service Member of the Year. His military awards also include the Air Force Meritorious Service Medal with one oak leaf cluster, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal with two oak leaf clusters, Air Force Achievement Medal with one oak leaf cluster, Navy Achievement Medal and the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal.

He is also a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., the Air Force Sergeants Association, the National Defense Transportation Association and the Airlifter/Tanker Association.
