Kimberly Lacy is an adjunct faculty member in the Sports Management program, specifically Sport Science. Her teaching interests include pharmacological and medicinal performance enhancements, exercise and fitness testing, prescription, program design, and protocol for athletes and general populations, nutritional effects of dietary intake and supplements on performance and health states, and the effects of aging on activity and fitness levels in general populations.
Kimberly has been involved in collegiate academics since 1995, holding the faculty position of Associate Professor in Kinesiology. She has specifically worked in distance education since 2000. She currently serves as an aquatics trainer, consultant, and instructor for the American Red Cross and the Austin YMCAs. Kimberly has had a 25 year history of health and community education involvement and has held positions such as aquatic facility manager, recreation program administrator, instructional consultant, and community health and safety trainer.
Kimberly received her Bachelor of Science in Business and her Masters of Business Administration from Troy State University. She received a second Masters of Education in Kinesiology from the University of Texas at Austin in 2003.
Kimberly has two children, ages five and seven, and her hobbies include running (has completed two marathons), weight training, music, and reading. She is an avid sports enthusiast who enjoys a variety of events, from the youth sports programs which her children actively participate, to the collegiate and the professional level.
