Biography - Christine J Cooke


Christine J. Cooke, Ph.D. Is a licensed clinical psychologist living and working in Portland, Maine. Dr. Cooke is also a licensed school psychologist in Massachusetts. She received her M.A. In Physiological Psychology from the University of New Hampshire and her Ph.D. In Clinical Psychology from Memphis State University with an internship at Brown University. She has over ten years of teaching experience at the graduate and undergraduate levels, both online and on-ground, and has chaired numerous master's and dissertation committees. Over the years, Dr. Cooke has worked in many different clinical settings, including hospitals, mental health centers, schools, halfway houses, interdisciplinary group practice and private practice. Dr. Cooke was involved with the Critical Incident Stress Debriefing Team for the Boston Fire Department when living in Boston and has been an organizer of the American Red Cross Mental Health Disaster Response Network in her community. She has a special interest in weight issues, eating disorders and mindfulness-based psychotherapy.
