Robert A Arruda
Robert Arruda is an Adjunct Professor at APUS. Robert holds a BS in Criminal Justice from Mercy College in New York and a MS in Social Sciences, with a concentration in Criminal Justice from Long Island University in New York. Robert also completed studies at the FBI National Academy.
Robert teaches courses in the areas of Criminal Justice, Homeland Security and Sociology. Robert’s career in law enforcement spanned 33 years, during which he held various positions, including Chief of Police, prior to his retirement in 2005. Robert has also worked as a consultant for New York State, assessing other police agencies to determine if they met the standards for accreditation. Robert also has extensive experience as the Director of Emergency management for a medium sized town, and has consulted to several communities in emergency planning and response.
Robert enjoys traveling with his wife, spending winters in sunny Florida, watching movies, and shooting pool. He has two daughters, both of whom have completed their college educations and are living on their own.
