Biography - Reginald G Jayne

Reginald Jayne earned his BS in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Houston-Downtown in 2003 and his MA in History from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX in 2005. His areas of emphasis during his graduate work were US History, Military History, and Regional History. His thesis, Martial Law in Reconstruction Texas, provided the only comprehensive study of the use of martial law in curbing racial violence in Texas during the reconstruction era.

Since graduating, he has served on the faculty for the University of Houston System and the Lone Star College System teaching courses in History and Political Science. In addition to being actively involved in community history events and presenting at national and regional conferences, he is currently researching the role of non-profit organizations during wartime and regional reconstruction history.
