
Doctor Chaplain Cynthia Lindenmeyer is an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ currently serving a local church and serves as the APUS Chaplain. Her doctoral thesis from Princeton Theological University focused on social online dynamics for soldiers deployed supporting the Global War on Terror.
Commissioned into the Signal Corps, she served on active duty for seven years following graduation from the United States Military Academy in 1990 with a BS in Electrical Engineering and area of study in Middle Eastern History. Throughout her career, Cynthia served in various command and staff positions from platoon to company command, operations officer and minority admissions officer for West Point.
Resigning her Army commission in 1997, she attended Duke Divinity School and graduated with a Masters of Divinity in 2000. She then served seven years as Associate Academy Chaplain at the United States Military Academy and mentored numerous cadets, staff and faculty, spoke at various events, officiated weddings, funerals and memorials, and taught Values, Ethics and Character classes and graduated from the Blanton Peale Institute with a Pastoral Counseling degree.
Since 1986, Cynthia has traveled to Israel and the Middle East region several times, served as a host officer for Jordanian military officers, studied Arabic, Greek and Hebrew.
She is married to Vince, also an AMU Adjunct Faculty member. They have two children, Carly and Luke. Her hobbies include teaching Spinning, Zumba, BOSU and spending time with family.
