Professor Shoemaker received his BA from the College of William and Mary, and a MS from Virginia Commonwealth University. He is retired from an analytical intelligence supervisory capacity with the Defense Department. Before retirement he was a regular guest lecturer at Joint Forces Staff College, Norfolk, VA, on Information Warfare, and adjunct faculty at the National Defense Intelligence College. Shoemaker’s varied list of publications span nearly thirty years ranging from police training and management, continuity of operations, to terrorism in American Schools. Professor Shoemaker is an enlisted airborne veteran of the conflicts in the Dominican Republic, and in Vietnam. In 1993 Professor Shoemaker retired from the US Army Reserve as a Major. Professor Shoemaker enjoys big game hunting, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, fishing and scuba diving. He is married with four grown children.
