Biography - John M Dougherty


John M. Dougherty graduated from the United States Military Academy with a Bachelor of Science degree concentrating in Military History. He holds a Master of Arts degree in The History of Great Britain and the Empire from Kansas University. He is a retired U.S. Army officer, having served in various Command and Staff positions throughout his career. Additionally, he taught World History and Military History at the U.S. Military Academy, the History of Western Civilization for the University of Maryland’s extension program at Prince Sultan Airbase, Saudi Arabia, and Military History at the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College. He also served as an Assistant Professor of Military Science with Boston University’s Army R.O.T.C. program. He is currently a full-time doctoral student in the History of the U.S. West Program at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
