IT WORK EXPERIENCE
Tracia Craig has worked in the Information Technology field for approximately fifteen years. In 1996, she began her career as an Integrated Technology instructor for a public middle school in Idaho. While working as a public school instructor, she delved into the private sector by designing and developing web sites for private industries. In 1997, she became a trainer for a five year, 5 million dollar JIT Challenge Grant, whose purpose was to train Idaho teachers to utilize technology in the classroom.

To capitalize on additional opportunities, Ms. Craig took coursework in Cisco networking and utilized this knowledge to configure networks and troubleshoot systems in the public school system.

In 2001, Ms. Craig sought additional challenges by transferring to a secondary school, where she taught History, Business Technologies, Web Design and Development, and other IT courses, while maintaining private sector business enterprises. In 2006, her interest in online education and Web 2.0 technologies was partially satisfied by her role as an online instructor for a secondary educational institution called Idaho Digital Learning Academy, which is the only state-sponsored online high school in Idaho.

Continuing with the theme of blending education and IT, Ms. Craig has found great satisfaction with her role as professor for American Public University System, which she began in 2007.

Currently, Ms. Craig is the first female Superintendent of Marsing Joint School District #363 in Marsing, Idaho. Enjoying the work immensely, she has already made a positive impact on how the school district functions.
