Biography - Marc S Wenner

I received my undergraduate degree in history from West Virginia University in 1993. I completed a MA in History at Old Dominion University in Norfolk in 2005. I went back to WVU to work on my PhD on a teaching assistantship during the 2005-06 academic year. I taught US History while there, but I have had to take a few semesters off to help raise my new daughter, Alexa. I currently teach HIST 223 Native American History at AMU. I also teach U.S. History and geography in the public school setting. I have a second MA in Special Ed (also from WVU) and hold teaching certificates in History and Emotional Disturbance/Behavioral Disorder in Virginia, Maryland and West Virginia.

My family and I live in Shepherdstown, West Virginia and this is only about 10 miles from the Charles Town, WV APUS campus. My primary focus is military history but my historical interests span the range of human existence. When I’m not teaching, I enjoy bike riding, traveling, watching films, and reading. I love to coach soccer. I have coached Varsity boys, Varsity girls, JV Girls, and some recreational teams.
