Profesora Sitzman graduated from Texas Christian University with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Spanish and a minor in French. While at TCU, she attended a study abroad program in Madrid, Spain. She then attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to obtain her elementary education teaching certificate and endorsement in Spanish. Through the University of Northern Iowa’s System of Summer Institutes for Spanish Teachers in Santiago de Compostela, Spain, she obtained her MA in Spanish with emphasis in teaching.
Profesora Sitzman shares her passion for the Spanish language with people of all ages. She has taught first grade at a Spanish Immersion school in Fort Worth, TX and middle school Spanish in Omaha, NE. Profesora Sitzman helped start a Spanish Magnet Elementary School in Omaha, NE and led sessions at Creighton University’s Summer Language Academy program for children. As adjunct faculty at the college level, she has taught Spanish at the University of Nebraska at Omaha and has supervised student teachers for UNO. Currently she is an adjunct faculty member at Metro Community College, introduces Spanish at a local preschool, and teaches an after-school Spanish enrichment program at her daughters' elementary school.
