Dr. Frank Russo received a B.A. in Biological Sciences and an M.A. in Kinesiology from the University of Maryland, and a Ph.D. from Kent State University in Exercise Physiology. His doctoral dissertation was titled: Comparative Effects of High- and Low-Resistance Training Protocols on Muscle Function and Functional Fitness in Older Men.
Dr. Russo also holds a faculty positions at Harford Community College (Bel Air, Maryland) teaching courses in General Biology, Human Anatomy and Physiology, and Nutrition.
Frank also has an exercise and nutrition consulting business that works to help athletes improve their performance, individuals improve their physical fitness and nutrition, and businesses improve the health and productivity of their employees by providing cutting edge scientific research combined with natural/evolutionary derived approaches to exercise training and nutrition. In addition he develops nutritional supplements designed to address shortcomings in contemporary diets lacking in essential nutrients. Dr. Russo has interests in diverse areas of human performance including exercise training, nutrition, and mental acuity and emphasizes how these interact to affect human performance and health.
Involved in competitive cycling since 1981, Frank has participated and competed at the national and international levels. His current emphasis and involvement in sport is training and coaching. In addition to cycling, other athletic and sports interests include triathlon and track and field, soccer (competing and coaching). He has worked with the cross-country, track and soccer teams at Kent State University and Towson University.
