I hold a Ph.D. in History from the University of Rochester, where I was a Fulbright fellow to Italy, and where I wrote my dissertation on a topic in the Counter-Reformation. My historical specialization is in early modern European history, specifically Renaissance and Counter-Reformation Italy and Europe. But, I also have concentrations in modern European and Medieval history, and have done graduate course work in Classical history.
I also hold an M.A. in history from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University and a B.A. in History and education from St. John Fisher College.
I teach world, Western, and American history courses both online, for several local SUNY colleges.
I have taught history at the University of Rochester, Syracuse University, LeMoyne College, SUNY Geneseo, SUNY Brockport Nazareth College, and Onondaga, Monroe, Genesee, and Finger Lakes Community Colleges. I was born in Italy and speak Italian and enough French to get by. I have relatives in both Italy and France. I also read Spanish well and Latin.
