Biography - Derrah Q. Cassidy


Derrah Q. Cassidy graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in political science in 1999 from Francis Marion University. In 2002, he earned a Master of Education in Instructional Accommodation also from Francis Marion.

Upon graduation in 1999, Mr. Cassidy began his career in higher education as an admissions counselor at Francis Marion University. Derrah worked in various capacities at FMU for six years. He also served as assistant director of admissions at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC for three years. Most recently, he served as program manager for college awareness initiatives at the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education. In this role, he managed many of the state’s higher education awareness grant programs. Derrah has been an adjunct instructor for APUS since fall 2007.

Originally from Cheraw, a small town in South Carolina, Derrah currently lives in Columbia, SC. In his free time, Derrah enjoys traveling, reading, fishing, and watching Gamecock Sports.
