Biography - Kimberly Weathers


Kimberley Green Weathers completed her Doctorate in History at the University of Houston in 2004, Master’s in History, also at UH, and Bachelor’s degree in Humanities from Stephen F. Austin State University. She has taught in various capacities from junior high school to university. Dr. Weathers' research interests include medical history and public policy, particularly national health insurance. Her dissertation, “Fitting an Elephant through a Keyhole”, examines the century-long history of that issue in the United States. In 2005 she served as a Visiting Scholar at the Institute for the Medical Humanities at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX. She has published several encyclopedia articles and is currently revising her dissertation for publication. The good professor resides in Clear Lake City, a suburb of Houston, where she tries to balance work with mothering three beautiful daughters, ages eleven, eight, and five. Her husband and two dogs demand whatever free time she has left.
