Helen Beth Driver received a bachelor’s degree in English Literature and Philosophy from Saint Mary’s College, Notre Dame and a master’s degree in English from Austin Peay State University. She subsequently taught at various colleges throughout New York, including Saint Thomas Aquinas, Mount Saint Mary, and Cayuga Community College. During this time, she taught various writing and literature courses ranging from English Composition to Mythology and World Literature. She also has experience working as an English Writing Lab Instructor for developmental and advanced students both at Cayuga Community College and Austin Peay State University.
Throughout her career, Helen has maintained an interest in American Literature and has presented many papers in this field. Her paper on Stephen Crane's Maggie was published in New York Irish History in the spring of 2003. In the fall, 2010, she also had a paper discussing the American romantic period published in The New England Journal of Political Science. Helen, a military spouse, is married to an Army soldier and understands the unique challenges military personnel face. She has two high energy boys and is an avid runner and skier.
