S. Toni Johnson earned both her Bachelor's of Arts and Masters in Public Administration degrees from The Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington.
Ms. Johnson has over two decades experience working in the public sector. Her experience includes, working as a Land Use Planner for the Squaxin Island Tribe, a human services manager for a housing authority, a paid graduate internship position with the Washington State Legislature, and currently serves as the statewide Housing and Human Services Coordinator for state government.
She has taught online and grounded courses in public administration and general studies for over eight years. Ms. Johnson believes teaching plays an essential role in her professional development. Clearly articulating and explaining political processes, public policy, institutions, problems, and phenomena challenges her to constantly reevaluate her own understanding. This constant reevaluation makes her a better instructor and public servant. She considers teaching a privilege and one of the highest forms of service.
Ms. Johnson is proud to be an Army Brat, her father is a retired US Army Colonel and her mother is also an Army Veteran. She has been a resident of Washington State for over thirty years. She is married to her wonderful husband Doug. They enjoy spending their free time with their labradors Samson & Delilah and exploring the beauty of the State of Washington.
