Vernon J. Martin

Vernon J. Martin has been a member of the APUS/AMU Department of Humanities, Philosophy, and Religion since 2006, and is also an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Sierra College in northern California where he's been teaching since 2005. He received his M.A. in philosophy from the University of North Texas and his B.A. in philosophy from University of California at Santa Cruz. As a graduate student at the University of North Texas, he was awarded the Richardson Environmental Action League fellowship in 1999; nominated by students and awarded by the Women’s Studies Program with a Professing Women Award for outstanding efforts and contributions to students' knowledge of and respect for women in the classroom and beyond. Also at the University of North Texas in 2000, Martin was awarded the Student Government Association President’s Award for teaching excellence and university contributions.
