Concurrent Admission

The American Public University System provides the opportunity for qualified high school students to enroll in courses at the 100 and 200 level. Students who meet all eligibility requirements for concurrent enrollment will be admitted but not matriculated into a degree program. Courses may be used as transfer credit or, upon graduation from high school; the student may submit the required documentation to be granted admission into a degree program and credits earned may be used toward an APUS degree program.

To qualify for concurrent enrollment a high school student must:

  • Have junior or senior standing.
  • Have a high school GPA of 3.0 or better, or its equivalent.
  • Be recommended in writing by the high school principal or high school guidance counselor.
  • Have written permission from a parent or legal guardian.
  • Complete the standard application for admission as "courses for transfer" student.*

*Students will follow all APUS policies as listed in "Undergraduate Criteria" in Student Handbook.
