Add/Drop

The course add period ends on Sunday, midnight ET, one week prior to when courses start. Students may not add any courses after the add period ends.  Students may consult the Student Handbook for information regarding the procedure to request late registration.  An additional fee is charged for late registration.

Students may drop a class without penalty up until Sunday midnight the first week of the class. For academic purposes, students who withdraw after the penalty-free drop period, and before the end of Week 4 of an 8-week course or week 9 of a 16-week course, will be given an administrative withdrawal, which will be annotated in their record as a “W.”  Withdrawals initiated by students on week 5 or later of an 8-week course or week 10 or later of a 16-week course are not automatic and will be reviewed by the registrar. If withdrawals are approved, students will be given a withdrawal grade based on their progress in the course to date.  Withdrawals will not be reflected in the calculation of the student’s grade point average.  Students should be aware that "W," grades, while not calculated in the grade point average, will be reflected on their academic transcript and will count toward the student's attempted hours. Students may not withdraw from a course once the course session completion date has been reached.
