General Education

Completion of the courses listed below fulfills APUS General Education requirements within all Associate and Bachelor's degree programs. Please note that the General Education requirements for the Associate or Bachelor's of Science degrees differ in some respects, requiring more math and/or science. Students should review carefully the General Education requirements indicated for their specific Associate or Bachelor's of Science program. Program requirements supersede all general APUS requirements.

English Composition - 6 semester hours

History - 6 semester hours

Humanities - 3 semester hours

Literature - 3 semester hours
All literature courses require successful completion of ENGL101 - Proficiency in Writing

Mathematics - 3 semester hours

Political Science - 3 semester hours

Science - 4 or 8 semester hours depending on program (includes 1 or 2 required labs)

Note: Students enrolled in Science courses that have a laboratory component are required to complete the associated lab course. Please note that some degree programs specify science courses to fulfill General Education requirements, while others allow for a choice of any Science course from the list above.

Social Sciences - 6 semester hours
