Terrorism Studies Certificate

Upon completion of this certificate students will be able to:

  • Assess the terrorist threat to US national security which has developed since the end of World War II.
  • Evaluate the factors and reasons the Middle East is the main source of international terrorists who target the Western World.
  • Forecast the likelihood of future terrorist attacks.
  • Assess the role of the US intelligence community in addressing the terrorist threat.

Must take the following 6 semester credit hours (2 courses):

  • LC514 / INTL651 - Roots of Terrorism
  • LC537 / INTL654 - Forecasting Terrorism

Choose 12 semester credit hours (4 courses) from:

  • IN547 / INTL613 - Intelligence and Homeland Security
  • IN585 / INTL614 - Assassination: History, Theory, and Practice
  • IN523 / INTL635 - Indications and Warnings
  • IN528 / INTL637 - Intelligence Profiling
  • IN525 / INTL650 - Counterterrorism
  • LC535 / HLSS522 - Weapons of Mass Destruction and the New Terrorism
  • LC522 / HLSS523 - Domestic Terrorism and Extremist Groups
